Today was the 2009 South West Road Club’s May Flyer. I vowed this year to not try and get on the wheel of a fast group early on as that enevitably leads to pain later in the day. I kept this up for about 30 miles which meant I was riding mostly solo but humming along nicely when a pair of faster riders caught me and I did catch their wheel until the halfway point. I find ordinary handles too hard to turn. What can I do? If you have a grip problem, you can obtain “Nudge Handles” for some Franke taps, which have specially extended levers to facilitate easy movement. I temporarily re-joined the New Triathlete’s Program for the traditional three sports with which to celebrate Memorial Day: swim/bike/eat throwdown at Sandy Point Park , just outside of Annapolis.
