That is, until I noticed that the cage was loose, and upon checking it out, discovered that the “braze ons” actually aren’t braze ons at all. They are some sort of threaded plug that Mongoose just inserts into holes in the downtube. The top one had already worked itself loose, so even though the cage was tight, t
